Lucas van Lierop, tenor

Hailed as “a gifted tenor” (China Daily), Lucas van Lierop is a versatile singer, performing in both operas and oratorios. His career has spanned more than a decade, originally as a boy soprano, and now as a tenor. In both capacities he has performed with many premiere ensembles and artistic organizations, including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and The Vancouver Opera. He has also performed at several top concert venues, including Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts and Lincoln Centre. Lucas is currently completing a Masters of Musical Arts in Opera Performance at the Yale School of Music under the guidance of professors Richard Cross and Doris Yarick Cross. This season he can be seen as “Snout” in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and “Juan” in Don Quichotte.
