Ian Tuski, guitar

Classical guitarist Ian Tuski has concertized as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Italy, Spain and Puerto Rico.  Recent performances have been broadcast live on Spanish National TV and have been featured in the Spanish television show "Pueblos del Dios." He has also performed at the New England Guitar Society, Iglesia de San Martin in Fromista, Spain and on the 'Sounds of Saturdy' Concert Series at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

A committed educator, Ian currently runs three classical guitar programs in the New Haven Public Schools and has begun creating New Haven's first youth guitar ensemble featuring young guitarists from throughout the city. The goal of this new initiative is to bring classical music to people of all communities in the form of informal, accessible live music experiences. He has also taught at the Morse Summer Music Academy at Yale University. 

Ian and has been a prize winner at numerous international guitar competitions including 1st Place at the Classical Minds Competition and 2nd Place at the Appalachian GuitarFest and Competition. He is currently pursuing his Master of Music Degree at the Yale School of Music under the guidance of renowned guitarist Benjamin Verdery. He has performed in masterclasses for acclaimed musicians such as Ricardo Gallen, Amadeus Duo, Paul O'Dette. Ian is also a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy where he received an award for Outstanding Performance in Guitar. Other private instructors include Rene Izquierdo, Brad DeRoche and Jerome Mouffe.
