Kate Bloch, trumpet

Kate Bloch is an active freelance trumpet player and teacher from central Indiana.  She attended Purdue University where she held the principal trumpet chair in the Purdue Symphony Orchestra and Purdue Symphonic Band.  Kate is well accomplished as a trumpet player and has performed in numerous groups with highlights including positions as the principal trumpet in the Griffin Sinfonia  Chamber Orchestra and as a founding member of the Circle City Brass Quintet.  She has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Carmel (Indiana) Symphony, the Indiana Wind Symphony, the Drum Corps International Summer Music Games and has performed Quiet City with the New World Youth Orchestra.  Her trumpet teachers have included Edmund Cord and Charles Conrad.  She was the winner of the National Trumpet Competition in 2000 and has also studied at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
